Followup: I upgraded my laptop, which was running Xubuntu 20.04 LTS
to 22.04 LTS.

Again, this was done using do-release-upgrade from the command line.

Since this laptop didn't have snap, and didn't have a package named
"firefox", Ubuntu didn't install snap on it upon upgrade.

The reason there is no package called "firefox" on this laptop, is that I
am running Firefox ESR, from the Ubuntu Mozilla Team. The package
name is "firefox-esr" instead.

So moving from 20.04 to 22.04 was much easier than from 18.04 to
20.04, as I didn't have to remove any packages installed using snap,
then snap itself.
