I think, current SSDs are fast enough that RAID is not needed.  Since 
you already have 2 SSDs, you can
     - use one SSD for "/" and the other for "/home".
     - or, use one SSD for everything and other as exact backup.  Since 
they are the same size, you can image (dd) it via cron.

Is there special reason to avoid Asus?   Asus is what I go for 
motherboard and other consumer things.  (AsRock is shit).
