[kwlug-disc] Single desktop of several devices -- does it exist?

One of the things that Synergy enabled (and I hope is continued in
Barrier) was copy'n'paste between computers. Can't do that with a KVM
switch.

Barrier/Synergy is meant for a use case where both monitors need to be
visible, not switched back & forth. I guess that can still be
accomplished with a KVM switch...

I have one KVM switch for various servers. But my KVM switch has been
eclipsed by technology -- I've recently upgraded hardware on one of the
server boxes, which no longer has a PS/2 style mouse port, so it can't
be used with this KVM switch. Happily this isn't an issue for (most)
servers.

My KVM is a D-Link 4-channel box, controlled from the keyboard with the
ScrollLock key. When I first got it, it eclipsed the technology of my
servers, 'cos it didn't support a serial mouse...
