The above may be a clue to what is going on.
The sdi1 partition is being recognized, as it should.

But perhaps when it attempts to mount that partition, it detects it is
corrupted.

So, what you need to do is run fsck on that partition, to repair the file
system,
then see if it is auto mounted the next time you boot or plug it in.
