I came across something interesting today while trying to set up a headless
Raspi (Model 3b) on a breadboard for some science experiments..
It seems that newer versions of the Raspberry Pi OS now ship with SSH
turned off by default, whereas before it was always on. So you can either
go dig up a spare monitor and keyboard and go that route, or you can just
insert your SD card in another machine, cd to the /boot partition and just
create (touch) a blank file named "ssh". Next time you boot the Pi it will
see the file, turn on SSH, then delete the file and you can SSH in easily.
