[kwlug-disc] pandemic lockdown

I understand that many of us are enthusiastic about discussing these
issues. I understand that in addition to being free software people we
are also nerdy people who associate socially, and are not interested
in strictly free-software topics. So I have been trying to think of
ways to support the community while permitting those us with anxiety
issues to have one list where we don't have to freak out.

- If you are into Slack, there is a secret KWTechs group where all the
cool tech people hang out. They are having a grand old time freaking
each other out on their #covid19 channel.

Despite being a loser I have infiltrated the group, and can ask for
invites if you would like to join. The criteria is that you have to
be local (I am guessing that means Waterloo Region), you have to be
involved with tech in some way (being in KWLUG probably counts) and
you need to send me your email.

- If there is sufficient demand I can create another KWLUG mailing
list (kwlug-social?). Then if you want to talk about coronaviruses
or socialism you can do so there. I am not thrilled about splitting
the community up in this way (where will I ask my stupid offtopic
questions about ISA video cards) but I am open to doing this, if
  only temporarily.

- Somebody else could offer a group that those who are interested
  could join.

If you have other ideas then I am open to them.

- Paul
