For me I’ve had almost zero luck with local electronics parts outside of scrap/junk “parts bins” which are a lot of fun but incredibly frustrating if you need something specific.

Digikey will ship overnight for $8 (and free if you order over $100) and you get exactly what you need every time. Mouser claims to do this as well but generally I find it’s not as good a service, although the last couple of orders have been MUCH better.

The trick with both of these is finding the right part number. Throwing in "JST 2mm” into digikey’s search and narrowing the results down a bit yields this:

https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/jst-sales-america-inc/B6B-PH-K-S-LF-SN/455-1708-ND/926615 <https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/jst-sales-america-inc/B6B-PH-K-S-LF-SN/455-1708-ND/926615>

and in the related parts you can get the female headers (455-1162-ND) and pins for the headers (455-2148-1-ND).

Alternatively, which is what I usually do now that I’m getting older and get frustrated with trying to crimp tiny pins, is to order pre-made cables (455-3083-ND). Sometimes you find them in different colours too.

That’ll get you exactly what you need overnight for probably under $20 including shipping. The alternative is ebay or aliexpress.

Definitely watching this thread to see what others have found locally.
