One of Tim's first talks was on cryptography and SSL. It included a
walkthrough of handshaking a connection. There are some meeting slides
here:

That should not prohibit anybody from revisiting the topic (Tim's
presentation was five years ago). But if you are looking for some
auxiliary material then it exists.
