Via OTA?
Kodi will also stream the Canadian channels, but last time I checked it does so via sucking from the web sites, and the web sites keep changing the interface / URLs such that the addon maintainers can't keep up. (Let alone some now use adobe encryption, giving the addons heartburn. At least as of the last time I looked.)
Sadly, as far as I know, Kodi won't just suck the program down. So I can play back on my own time, at my own time, at my own speed - unlike my PVR.
And from my experimentation, nothing seems to beat the VLC interface - especially across providers / programs, and, especially, with subtitles. [It appears few apps understand cc / analogue captions, vs digital captions, and digital captions don't often seem embedded in the stream. I run into this with OTA, too.] Fast forwarding, without sound, let alone without video ... is just broken. (Same occurs on the Vmedia STB box too, AFAIK. Don't know about Zazeen, yet - but would like to know, soonest, even.)
