People talk about "freedom" as though it's free.  But, one consequence
of that freedom, is vendor lockin which only increases cost and
confusion.  Cost for developer/vendor and eventually for end users.

I guess systemd comes from that freedom.  At first, I didn't care,
because it will die like thousands of other post-thesis projects.  Then,
everybody jumps on it.  Sheez...  If it helps to reduce variations in
Linux market, then it's good.
