That’s how cable works. It’s a shared medium. You get hundreds of channels over the same copper; cable internet is really no different. Modern modems can bond up to I think 4 internet “channels” both in the downstream and upstream direction.
It’s entirely possible to have a hundred modems on a cable TV segment. Two or three at your house is the only unusual part of it. :-)
