[kwlug-disc] Vmedia Internet? [Was: K-W Cable Internet / TV alternatives - 2014 redux.]

The ethnic market has gone the IPTV route for several years now.

There are these boxes that are identical to VMedia vbox (internet in, HDMI
out), but have the channels Arabic, Greek, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, ...etc.

They are sold for $350 to $400 one time fee, and no monthly subscription.

Not sure how they sustain themselves. Perhaps by selling a new model of the
box every year or something.

The problem here is that again we are bundling. If you want their TV
service, you have to get their internet service as well ... more shackles,
just like Rogers and Bell.

I guess I will continue to explore free to air options ...
