No.

I just install apticron, then change /etc/apticron/apticron.conf to have my
email address.

I then get notified if there are updates to packages that are installed on
that machine.

Then I just do aptitude full-upgrade and be done with it.

No need to even do aptitude update, because apticron does that every so
often automatically to check for updates.
