[kwlug-disc] OT: Another voip.ms troubleshooting question

unsolicited unsolicited at swiz.ca

If nothing else:
- are there any event logs around providing any clues?
- can you get some snmp'ing or syslog'ging going out the box? Would
snort, et al, bring anything to your party?
- can voip.ms offer any advice or assistance or logging - e.g. We saw
registration at x:xx and deregistration at y:yy?
- any way you can set up a poll or heartbeat to detect or reestablish
registration?

Perhaps you can collect enough information to lead you to the culprit,
or at least narrow down when it happens / alert so you can bring it back
sooner rather than later?

I was going to ask if Rogers is getting its fingers in here, and
dropping tcp sessions on you, but if Unlimitel is staying up, that seems
unlikely. (I seem to remember coming across web pages that claim Rogers
does this sort of thing. I don't remember the particular circumstances
discussed, but it probably had to do with torrents and their rate
limiting mechanisms. e.g. Sending tcp session end to one side.)
