Hmm... here is something that may tie in with RIM thread.  RIM can sell hardware terminal, and VMware can sell something to connect to.  "Thin-client" thing have been around, either as dedicated X-terminal or converted PC.  Didn't get any traction, because X-terminal was crazy expensive, and nobody is going to convert working PC into dumb terminal.  But, who knows this time around...
