Just in case anyone doesn't remember:
AMD Toronto (Markham) was once ATI, famed for its video cards.
AMD retired the ATI brand after they acquired the company.
AMD/ATI & Linux suggests work at the video driver level.
And I would think that work supporting other hardware would be done 
elsewhere.
