Anyone been following the CRTC UBB hearings? What's going on?

Came across M. Geist's blog for day 1 and 2 of the hearings, where 
apparently the idea of needing UBB due to congestion has been blown 
away, receiving as little mention as possible from Bell - the ones who 
wanted it for that reason. And an apparent preference for more 3rd 
party competition, especially for cable.
