I am surprised that you are seeing this, in this day and age.

My router (Zyxel, sold as many other brands), has PPPoE built right in:

Here is a copy/paste from the telnet admin page:

ISP's Name= YourISP
Encapsulation= PPPoE
Service Type= N/A
My Login=
My Password= ********
Retype to Confirm= ********
Idle Timeout= 100

If you use any router, I would guess that they have it, since Bell is
(used to be?) PPPoE.

Any reason you want a regular computer as your router, and not
a lower power off the shelf router?
