I have one of those thick yellow books. It is full of names, phone numbers
and home addresses. I can lookup where anyone lives if I know their name.

Burglary, stalking, identity theft galore ...

And the phone company has Call Detail Records on everyone! They can
correlate who calls whom, when and for how long.

They can even feed that to a data warehouse which would feed into an automatic
calling system that would sell these people family and friends plans.

And all that, without the internet ...
