Now the serious answer:

I use Mint. Ubuntu derivative.
Pros:
- I can find help very easy as there is a ton of help for Ubuntu
- Nicely packaged
- A few weeks behind on the release schedule so it usually skips the new version pains.
- It is debian derived of course, It is easy to do things.
- Their menu is awesome.
- The other mint tools are quite simple to use.
- Looks elegant. (I know, you can get that with any distro, it is just that out of the box is nice to look at)

I tried: This is what I thought
Fedora : This is for tinkerers. Very nice, but close to bleeding edge
OpenSuSE: Simple things are difficult to do.
Puppy: I love it to carry around, great for novice and experts, not so much for people in the middle.

I tried many more but there was always something (usually hardware support) that made me switch.
