[kwlug-disc] What's the best desktop distribution?

I've generally stuck with archlinux for the past year or two. Though lately I've found my patience for manually configuring everything dwindling and have considered using an Ubuntu. Or perhaps just installed kde/gnome and seeing how much easier it makes configuring arch.

First, I would mourn the loss of my preconceptions, and probably suffer
through the flames of RPM hell of Fedora and openSUSE. Then I'd likely
try building my own world in Gentoo, until my house of cards was too much
work to maintain. Then I would make a promising pilgrimage and try to
keep my tent from blowing away in the bug-filled sandstorms of Ubuntu change,
before landing in the glorious homeland that is Debian.
