Couple thoughts for you, particularly given other thread responses ...
(Others should confirm / correct.)

1. You might consider that if you're going to build a myth box, it 
doesn't have to be all in one. i.e. The gym might only have a box to 
drive the TV / speakers. Content storage could be on another box, 
which could be further leveraged to other parts of the house. e.g. 
office [radio]. Myth, like Asterisk, is really taking control of 
internal distribution yourself. You collect it somewhere. You view it 
from somewhere.

2. It doesn't have to be Myth that gets content into its repository. 
So if you have some box putting content into Myth storage, your gym 
front end can pull it. [Theoretically. Streaming radio, not being 
content that lands in storage, may not apply.]
