Blender - 3D graphics modelling; The GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

This meeting will be held at The Working Centre in Kitchener, Ontario. Our meetings are free and open to those with an interest in Linux.Doors open at 6pm for casual conversation and perhaps a Linux-related video.Wow! A graphics extravaganza!!!

We'll start with the basics of The GIMP (The GNU Image Manipulation Program) and learn how to start using this pixel-based image program.

Then we'll shift into 3D gear and look at Blender for 3D modelling, animation and rendering.

Chris will demonstrate and discuss Blender.

Including basic navigation, making a toilet, game engine, examples of what can be done.

The presentation is intended for beginner.

Richard will provide an introduction to photo-manipulation with The GIMP. The GIMP is a pixel-based image program. This introduction will cover a few basics and a few examples.

We'll look at GIMP tools and actions with useful examples.

Demonstrations may include, redeye reduction, contrast improvement, masking and cropping, merging and separation. More information here, closer to the presentation date.
